Are you experienced in supporting children and young adults with Complex needs?
Apollo Home Healthcare are seeking experienced Support Workers to support a young man with his complex care needs.
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Support Workers who are passionate about their job, enjoy delivering one to one support and who can build positive relationships with our service users and their families.
The person you would be caring for in his late teens and has a neuromuscular condition that primarily affects his muscles that are used for moving and breathing.
He is fully dependent on his devoted parents and dedicated care team for all his needs both at home and his trips out.
Therefore, as part of his team, you will play an essential role in promoting his independence and assisting him to live the lifestyle he chooses.
He is non-verbal and communicates through a specialised tablet, so patience and understanding are vitally important qualities in order to allow him to make his own choices and ensure his ‘voice’ is heard.
His interests include watching TV, listening to music, playing on his iPad and enjoying other people's company especially when they are singing and being silly! He has a fun and friendly personality with a great sense of humour and very loving nature.
We provide an extensive training programme for all his clinical needs by registered nurses who will fully support you throughout the process and this will be conducted at your own pace.
You must be a genuine, fun and kind person skilled in interacting and engaging by way of singing and dancing, being silly is also essential!
Essential Experience Required
• 6 months previous care / support experience
• Personal Care
• Moving and Handling
• Working with Children & Young People
Desirable Essential Experience
• Tracheostomy Care
• Ventilation Management
We have the following shifts available;
• Night shifts from 20:30 to 07:30 – (Training Programme would be during the day)
