Are you passionate about enhancing a child or young person’s everyday life?
Would you like to progress your career by working with children who require complex clinical care?
We are looking to recruit a team of Support Workers who have a genuine interest in working with children and young people, to support our young service users who have complex care needs.
Our service user is a lovely young boy who lives with his parents and siblings in Frinton-on-Sea.
We are looking for individuals who are looking for part time hours covering mornings and evenings throughout the week.
In the mornings (7am – 11am), you will carry out an effective handover with his overnight care team in advance of him waking. From here, you will then begin his daily routine.
During the evening (6pm – 9pm) you will begin his bedtime and settling down routine assisting with bathing, dressing for bed followed by either watching Disney films, listening to music, or reading stories.
You will also be fulfilling his sensory, play and social needs when required, this could be general play at home, walks to the park and accessing the community.
Our young service user is registered blind and unable to communicate verbally. He uses facial expressions and noises to make his team aware of his needs. It is important that you can interpret these forms of communication effectively to avoid him becoming distressed.
Our ideal applicant will be calm, patient, reassuring and able to give him the time he needs to communicate. It would also be advantageous to be living in the local area.
Drivers are preferred; however, this is not essential.
