Apollo Home Healthcare is seeking experienced Healthcare Assistants to support a young girl with her complex care needs.

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants who are passionate about their job, enjoy delivering one to one support and who can build positive relationships with our service users and their families.

Our service user is a happy young girl who lives with her family in Nottingham and requires a care team to support her during the day and throughout the night.

You will be engaging in lots of playtime and sensory based activities. Her favourite toys are those that have lights and make sounds. She also likes to spend time outdoors when the weather permits.

When engaging in playtime activites, it is important that her care team sit close to her as she has limited vision. She communicates via noises and facial expressions and when happy, she will kick out her arms and legs in excitement.

It is important that you can develop a relationship with her to enable you to interpret her wants and needs to avoid her becoming distressed.

You will also provide reassurance and attend to her needs in a timely manner, ensuring that appropriate actions are carried out. You will remain alert and responsive, promoting rest and ensuring she has an adequate night’s sleep.

She would love the person who is joining her team to have a genuine interest in working with children and young people and be able to commit to the hours available to ensure continuity in her care team.

Essential Experience Required

• 6 months previous care experience
• Medication Administration
• Personal Care
• Moving and Handling

Desirable Experience

• Knowledge of Cerebral Palsy
• Knowledge of Epilepsy care and Seizure Management
• PEG Feeding
• Oral Suction

We have the following shifts available;

• Part Time
• Days and Nights
