Are you looking to expand your skills and enhance your career to include providing Complex Clinical Care or do you already have Complex Care experience?
Apollo Home Healthcare is seeking experienced Healthcare Assistants to support a young male with complex care needs.
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants who are passionate about their job, enjoy delivering one to one support and who can build positive relationships with our service users and their families.
Our service user lives with his family in Hereford and requires care throughout the night.
He has a fantastic sense of humour, an infectious laugh and a cheeky personality. His natural magnetic charms make others feel happy by being in his company and he is a real pleasure to support.
He loves music and especially likes singing and moving along to his favourite songs.
At home he enjoys engaging with his care team in sensory based activities such as messy play.
He is very sociable and enjoys opportunities to get out and about accessing the community, such as shopping, going to the café with friends and visiting the local park. Prior to lockdown restrictions he particularly enjoyed going swimming.
Our service user is unable to communicate verbally and does so via facial expressions and noises. He will also reach out for objects and use limited Makaton signs to make his wants and needs knows.
It is important for his care team to be able to communicate effectively with him for him to be given choice and for his voice to be heard. Therefore, applicants must have previous experience working with non-verbal service users and ideally, have some knowledge of Makaton.
He is very close with his care team and enjoys sharing lots of laughs and having cuddles. We are looking for individuals who have a genuine interest in working with young people and can commit to his care on a long term, ongoing basis.
