Job description

Are you an experienced Support Worker looking for a new role?

Do you have experience supporting young adults?

Apollo Home Healthcare is seeking an experienced Support Workers to support a young male with his complex care needs.

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals who are passionate about their job, enjoy delivering one to one support and who can build positive relationships with our service users and their families.

Our service user is in his mid-teens and is currently residing in Coventry however, he will be relocating back to his family home in Atherstone in the near future.

He recently sustained a life changing spinal injury and we are looking for someone who can provide the vital care he requires and also encourage him to socialise and try new things within his capability.

This may be organising accessible days out or assisting him to meet with his friends.

He is very chilled out and laid back and spends a lot of his time online, playing Xbox and watching YouTube on his phone. Prior to his injury, he spent a lot of time with his friends and enjoyed watching and taking part in lots of sports. He is a big fan of Liverpool FC!

We require individuals who can motivate and inspire our service user whilst getting involved and supporting him in the things he enjoys.

It would be great if you have similar interests!

Essential Experience Required

  • 3 months previous care experience
  • Medication Administration
  • Personal Care
  • Moving and Handling

Desirable Experience

  • Spinal Injury Knowledge
  • Catheter Care
  • Bowel Management
  • Knowledge of Autonomic Dysreflexia

We have the following shifts available;

  • Days - 8am – 4pm
  • 4 shifts per week

This is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your knowledge, skills and experience, whilst delivering exceptional care and support to our service user, really making an impact on his day-to-day life.
