Job description

Are you passionate about enhancing a child or young person’s everyday life?

Would you like to progress your career by working with children who require complex clinical care?

We are looking to recruit a team of Support Workers who have a genuine interest in working with children and young people, to support our young service users who have complex care needs.

Our service user is a lovely young boy who lives with his parents and siblings in Frinton-on-Sea.

He enjoys lots of interaction with his care team and enjoys watching Disney films , listening to music and reading books.

He requires care throughout the night and you will be carrying out his bedtime and settling down routine and tending to his clinical requirements.

Our young service user is registered blind and unable to communicate verbally. He uses facial expressions and noises to make his team aware of his needs.

It is important that you can interpret these forms of communication effectively to avoid him becoming distressed.

Our ideal applicant will be calm, patient, reassuring and able to give him the time he needs to communicate.

It would be advantageous if applicants live in or are local to Frinton on Sea.

Drivers are preferred; however, this is not essential.

Essential Experience Required:

  • 6 months previous care experience
  • Medication Administration
  • Personal Care
  • Moving and Handling

Desirable Experience:

  • Knowledge of Epilepsy Care
  • Seizure Management
  • Gastrostomy Care (PEG Feeding)
  • Oral Suctioning

We have the following shifts available:

  • Nights - 9pm - 9am
  • Evenings - 6pm - 9pm
  • Mornings - 7am - 10am
  • Sunday to Thursday

This is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your clinical skills and experience, whilst delivering exceptional care and support to our service user and really making an impact on his  day-to-day life.

Why work for Apollo Home Healthcare?

We specialise in the provision of highly complex clinical care services delivered in the homes of service users.

  • Full clinical training
  • Opportunity to work with other service users in the area
  • Ongoing professional training and development
