Job description

Are you passionate about enhancing a child or young person’s everyday life? We are looking to recruit Healthcare Assistants who have a genuine interest in working with children and young people, to support our young service users who have complex care needs.

We offer comprehensive training allowing you to enhance your experience of working in care and / or with children by working in a more clinical role.

Training can include but is not limited to;

• Tracheostomy Care

• Ventilation management

• Personal Care

• Moving & Handling

• Gastrostomy Care (PEG feed)

Our service user is an energetic young girl who lives with her Mum, Dad, and extended family in Blackburn. You will be fulfilling her sensory, play and social needs when required, accompanying to school, general play at home, walks to the park and accessing the community.

Throughout the night you will constantly monitoring her, ensuring she is always safe and has comfortable nights sleep.

She loves spending time with her family and enjoys days out in the community, visiting the local park and going shopping with her Mum.

She is unable to communicate verbally and does so via vocal cues and gestures. It is important that you can understand and interpret her wants and needs to avoid her becoming distressed of frustrated. She is in the process of learning Makaton and it would be advantageous if you can communicate using this method.

  • 3 months previous care experience
  • Medication Administration
  • Personal Care
  • Moving and Handling

We have the following shifts available;

*Full Time Waking Nights - 10pm – 7:30am

This is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your clinical skills and experience, whilst delivering exceptional care and support to our service user, really making an impact on her day to day life.
