We place children with very complex physical needs with Apollo. We use Apollo for the most complex children as they are good at accommodating a really high level of needs.

Lesley Hall, Senior Nurse CYPCC, Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB – Blackpool

Referrals into complex home care can either be step up from the community or step down from hospital … it tends to be more step up from the community into providers like Apollo.

Amy Jeffery, PHB Co-ordinator, Greater Manchester ICB

Apollo tends to support our most medically complex children, and we see them as a go-to provider for this cohort.

Cheyenne Usher, Quality and Performance Support Manager, Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust

[Apollo] do take very complex children, with challenging behaviours and seizures for example. A couple of Apollo’s packages are very long-term and have been going on for a good few years.

Lauren Seggie, Children’s Case Manager, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB

I have clients that have brain injuries, which are going straight from hospital to home or they are in a slow stream rehabilitation facility and I am getting them home.

Helen Birch, Rehab ABI Lead, Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin ICB

Apollo are the most active provider we have for bidding and picking up packages… They keep themselves fresh in our mind and because they are actively bidding for things, they have a good chance of getting those packages.

Lesley Hall, Senior Nurse CYPCC, NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB – Blackpool

Apollo has been really good at those meetings and has been really responsive and engaged. We have a good line of communication with Apollo and we have a really good working relationship with Apollo.

Lauren Seggie, Children’s Case Manager, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB

Apollo will have staff that are specifically trained for the specific individual and that’s a huge benefit. That means there’s continuity for the client, the family, and for me.

It’s reassuring to know Apollo have got a team that’s embedded and that know what they’re doing.

Rebecca Close, Senior Commissioning Practitioner, Cheshire & Merseyside ICB – Cheshire

Apollo are definitely a go-to provider for complex home care.

Maxine Danks, Head of Individual Care, NHS Black Country ICB

Apollo tends to support our most medically complex children, and we see them as a go-to provider for this cohort.

Cheyenne Usher, Quality and Performance Support Manager, Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust

Apollo tends to gravitate towards the more complex packages as that seems to be Apollo’s bread and butter.

Lauren Seggie, Children’s Case Manager, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB

Apollo stand out from other providers thanks to their ability to manage really complex characters.

I’d love to see other providers tackle complex packages in the same way as Apollo, but they can’t.

Amy Jeffery, PHB Co-ordinator, Greater Manchester ICB

I wanted to thank you for my loyalty and recognition bonus. It was so unexpected and will be put to good use as we move into our new journey as parents. I really appreciate your generosity and having my hard work acknowledged. I really enjoy being part of your team and wish you all many blessings.

Doriana – Staff member

I just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work putting together a team for my daughter. She is getting used to all the new faces and we are finding all the help very useful. We now have a much better routine as a family. Thank you again for putting together so much help and support for our daughter and our family.

Mom

How great to hear how well our client is doing, and he has been going back into school! I am pretty sure this is partly due to the package from Apollo as he gets such good care overnight, which is improving his overall condition.

Kim, Team Leader, Children’s Continuing Care and Assessment Team

Just to say thank you for getting these dates sorted for our client. Having spoken to her this morning, she is much calmer generally and is feeling that things are starting to come together, so a massive thank you from me as I know how challenging this has been and the work that you have put into it.

Sophie Lester, BSc (Hons) Case Manager/Spinal Occupational Therapist

I feel very grateful for having this opportunity to work with Apollo, within a great team and having a special and amazing client.

I am also very happy the Apollo team is getting bigger, with new people joining the office.

Thank you once again for everything!

This is just a quick note to say how impressed and thankful I was to the girls who were here on Christmas day.

In saying that, to all of the carers… you are doing a great job and mum is certainly a lot happier and less anxious with Apollo than she was before.

Family member

… I just wanted to put in writing my appreciation to all your carers on our client’s package. I have personally met her Carers and they are a credit to your team.

I receive regular positive feedback regarding all her carers from the ward staff, they are professional, kind, caring and demonstrate their compassion towards our client.

They have felt like part of the ward team which has been lovely, If you could pass on my appreciation to your team I would be very grateful.

Hannah Woods – Ward Manager 4B, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital

I just wanted to let you know that we are very impressed with the service that your team member has provided to our care packages and in particular to the child client, which as a case is extremely challenging.

The team member has shown great commitment and enthusiasm. Communication with her is brilliant. She is very hands on, and she knows our children exceptionally well. I don’t think we could ask for more.

I think it’s important to recognise and celebrate good work and service, I’m sure you will appreciate this.

Nicola Squire da Silva – Team Manager, Children with Disabilities Team, St Helen’s

I just wanted to say what an absolute pleasure it is to work with your team. They respond quickly to emails sent, they do whatever they can to assist, and they do this with good grace, joy and a positive attitude. They ensure that suitably trained and well supported staff are deployed.

The care that they put in place for a new client I am told by the family member was his words ‘AMAZING’. He is so delighted with the level of professionalism and care to his brother.

So you see, at my level of contact with your agency and the family level, we are really so grateful.

Sharon Lomax – Lead for Personal Health Budgets, NHS Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group & NHS Halton Clinical Commissioning Group

Thank you so much for everything this year Laura. I can’t express enough how much your support and words meant to me, and the rest of us while we were caring for our client, knowing you’d be there whenever I needed a chat meant the world. I can’t thank you enough for the hard work and hours you put in during that time. Then afterwards, you were still there whenever we needed you. Thank you for keeping me in work afterwards. I really needed that… you don’t even know how much that helped. Please pass on a massive thank you to our coordinator as well for that, and for letting me work with another client.

Over the past 2 years with our client, I couldn’t have asked for a better coordinator. So, thank you so much Laura.

Shannan – Staff Member

I appreciate all the support, training I have been given whilst employed with you. …I feel in my time with you I was supported in delivering care to a high standard.

Emma Smith – Former staff member

Could I take also take this opportunity to say how appreciated it is to be valued in this way, especially in light of the past year we’ve all had, if you could pass on my gratitude, thank you.

Debbie – Staff Member

Thanks for everything you and your team have done. You have been fantastic, from advocating on behalf of our client and his family when they couldn’t get the information they wanted, to ensuring his care was delivered safely. To enabling our client’s last wishes to be with his family were achieved. The family have nothing but praise for you all but especially his Carer who has helped them through the last 24 hours.
