We began working with Brandon and his family in December 2023, initially shadowing and training our care team to ensure a seamless and supportive transition.
It was vital for us to understand not just Brandon’s complex healthcare needs, but also his vibrant personality, his personal preferences, his daily routines, and the wishes of his wider family, so we could build a bespoke care package that truly fits Brandon and his aspirations.
Brandon lives with Cerebral Palsy (Spastic Quadriplegia), Scoliosis, Autism, and a mild learning disability and can also experience occasional anxiety. He requires full assistance with personal care, medication, food preparation, and mobility.
His transfers are managed with a ceiling track hoist, and he uses a specialist wheelchair, that is proudly personalised with his number plate ‘BRAN 1’, along with a standing frame and a fully adapted home environment that includes a wet room.
To support his independence and active lifestyle, Brandon requires care and support throughout the week and on a part-time basis over the weekends when his family are present.

Having a dedicated care team also enables his parents to continue working, knowing that Brandon is in safe and trusted hands.
Given the nature of his support needs and his love for community outings, it’s essential that Brandon’s carers are confident drivers requiring at least three years of experience to drive his wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
Brandon’s Autism means he can sometimes become overstimulated or verbally agitated, especially when routines are disrupted or if he feels misunderstood.
Strong communication, patience, and a bubbly, proactive attitude are key traits we look for when matching carers to Brandon’s team.
He values reliability and connection and enjoys spending time with people who are upbeat, enthusiastic, and ready to support him in accessing his favourite activities, whether that’s a hot chocolate at his favourite café or an evening disco with friends.
