After Tony’s existing care package failed, he was admitted to hospital leaving the comfort of his home behind. Working closely with all the professionals involved in Tony’s care, we were able to redesign his package of care and get him back home.

Tony* was involved in a road traffic incident in 2006 which resulted in multiple traumatic injuries to his brain, abdomen, lung, pelvis and tibia, known as polytrauma. These injuries left Tony wheelchair dependent and reliant on his care team and family for his day-to-day care needs.

Due to the nature of his brain injury, Tony has multiple cognitive and physical deficits including spasticity on the left side of his body, which affects movement and speech and causes discomfort and pain. He has a modified diet due to his swallowing difficulties, known as dysphagia and is no longer able to communicate verbally.
